Born in California, USA, 1996

Lives and works in New York, USA

Multimedia artist Audrey Lyall uses a variety of materials in her work, from collaged paper to found objects, to create maximalist Afrofuturist paintings, sculptures, and clothing. Within her artistic practice, she navigates a variety of concepts such as racial identity, beauty standards, and perception. Her most recent works explore the dichotomy between artificial beauty regimens and traditional beauty practices in relationship to the African diaspora.

“In my life, there is no separation between art and fashion. As someone who actually got into art because of fashion design, I have always felt that fashion is simply another artistic medium just like painting or drawing. Both work together to encapsulate history, emotions, and creativity.”
