For Emilio Gola, art is a relational act with the subjects that inspire him: his friends amidst the chaos of his studio. Emilio's paintings narrate the relational voids experienced by today's youth, filled, however, by silent and gestural communications. In his paintings, things are piles, random stratifications that saturate space while supporting and suspending bodies in precarious balance. “Often, there is a lack of a physical and innocent approach in relationships, which intrigues me and drives my artistic exploration”. “Each painting represents a set in search of form. It's as if the painting is an attempt to tell itself and at the same time to interpret itself. An investigation into our way of being alive”.
